Energy and infra wins bolster Sweett results

Sweett group reported 拢1.6m profit for the first half of the year following transport and energy wins and the sale of PFI assets. European work brought in just over half of Sweett鈥檚 revenues for the period, which totalled 拢37.7m, up from 拢36.1m. Sweett鈥檚 pre-tax profit in the six months to 30 September followed a loss of 拢200,000 in the same period last year.

Persimmon to build half its homes offsite

Persimmon is planning to build half of its homes offsite, its managing director has told CN. Jeff Fairburn said the country鈥檚 biggest housebuilder is ramping up the modular approach, or Space4, which currently produces a third of homes, or around 3,500. He said: 鈥淚t is primarily going in to our business in the South, but we see opportunities across our sites.

Morgan Sindall has won two new infrastructure projects worth 拢42m including the 拢20m North Doncaster Chord project. Network Rail has awarded the North Doncaster Chord project which comprises the construction of a new 3.2km twin-track railway and a six-span viaduct to add extra capacity and remove a critical bottleneck from the East Coast Main Line.
