Balfour Beatty Olympic Stadium conversion to cost 拢190m

The cost of Balfour Beatty鈥檚拢154m Olympic Stadium conversion job has rocketed by 拢36m, following complexities installing a new stadium roof.

The contract has now been revalued at 拢189.9m, the London Legacy Development Corporation has confirmed.

In a statement today, the LLDC said the project was a 鈥渉ugely complex engineering scheme鈥�

EFA picks Laing O'Rourke for Yorkshire PSBP schools

The Education Funding Agency has appointed Laing O鈥橰ourke to deliver the Yorkshire batch of privately financed schools under the Priority School Building Programme.

Laing O鈥橰ourke beat Bam Construction and Morgan Sindall, which were also shortlisted for the batch in April.

Willmott Dixon wins 拢34.5m 1,000-student Llandysul super school

Willmott Dixon has been appointed to build a 拢34.5m super school for 1,000 pupils in Llandysul, Wales.

The school is the largest building ever commissioned by Ceredigion County Council and will merge five existing schools to form an 鈥榓ll-through鈥� school for three to 19-year-olds.

Galliford Try wins 拢38m Northamptonshire council HQ and 拢39m Subsea 7 office

Galliford Try has been appointed to deliver two office contracts in Northamptonshire and Surrey, worth a combined 拢77m.

It will build a new 拢38m headquarters for Northamptonshire County Council in Northampton.

The 17,600 sq m four-storey building will regenerate an area on the south side of Northampton town centre and consolidate the council鈥檚 existing offices in the town into one building.
