Berkeley Group's 拢2m safety aimed at cutting on-site accident

Berkeley Group has launched a 拢2m fund to encourage companies and individuals to come forward with ideas to reduce accidents on site.

Grants of between 拢250 and 拢250,000 will be made available over the next two years to anyone with an idea that will lead to safer sites.

Berkeley Group managing director Rob Perrins said 鈥済etting people to think more about looking after themselves鈥� was a common challenge as the housebuilding pipeline continues to grow.

Laing O鈥橰ourke lands proposed 拢118m Liverpool cancer hospital

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust has partnered with Laing O鈥橰ourke for a new cancer hospital on the Royal Liverpool University Hospital site.

The 拢118m Transforming Cancer Care project will develop a new cancer hospital in the centre of Liverpool and redevelop the existing Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in Wirral.

Galliford Try wins 拢72m in extra care deals

Galliford Try has been appointed to four extra care and affordable housing contracts, worth a combined 拢72m.

Its Partnerships business will deliver a 拢36m retirement village for the Extra Care Charitable Trust on the former MG Rover plant in Longbridge, near Birmingham.

Goldman Sachs issues PQQ for London headquarters amid ongoing uncertainty over plans

US investment bank Goldman Sachs has gone out to the market for the construction of its proposed European headquarters quarters in London, despite opposition to the scheme, Construction News can reveal.

The client issued a prequalification questionnaire for the development, which is estimated to have a construction value of around 拢350m.

Goldman Sachs received planning approval for the scheme in March 2014.
