Berkeley forms 拢400m Wellcome Trust joint venture

Berkeley Group and the Wellcome Trust charity have launched a joint venture initially worth up to 拢400m aimed at regeneration in the South-east. Berkeley is to source the land and design, build and market each scheme, backed by capital injections from the Wellcome Trust. The charity owns over 拢1bn in residential property, mostly in London, and has access to a funding pool of 拢16bn. The Trust will also provide a potential long-term outlet for residential products on each site.

Wilkinson Eyre sees profits drop

Profits and turnover dipped at Wilkinson Eyre for the year to the end of March 2013. Turnover at the London-based architecture firm fell to 拢9.1million for the 12 months to 31 March. Profit before tax was down 8.5 per cent to 拢1.5million over the period.

ISG buys German fit-out firm for 拢2.2m

ISG has announced its acquisition of German office fit-out specialist Tecton Engineering in a 拢2.2m deal. The UK construction services group secured a 90 per cent controlling stake in Berlin-based Tecton, which provides fit-out and facilities management services to commercial office buildings in Germany.

Miller lands latest university deal at Leeds

Miller Construction has won an 拢8.25m deal for Leeds University which starts on site in September. Work will involve a remodelling and relocation project for the School of Geography alongside an extensive programme of refurbishment and infrastructure upgrades of the Clothworkers South and Central Buildings. Completion is scheduled for the autumn of 2014.
