Graham Construction wins 拢20m Essex bridge rebuild

Graham Construction has won the job to replace a viaduct over the river Chelmer in Chelmsford, Essex.

The firm is understood to have fended off rival bids from Kier, Lagan and VolkerFitzpatrick with a final price of 拢19.8m.

Willmott Dixon and Seddon after new subcontractors

Seddon and Willmott Dixon Housing are looking for subcontractors to help with work for Wigan & Leigh Homes.

Local suppliers are being invited to meet with the contractors to find out how they can win work on projects to deliver around 250 homes over the next five years.

Materials giant Hanson sold by Heidelberg

HeidelbergCement has sold Hanson Building Products to American private equity firm Lone Star Funds.

The 拢900m deal also sees Lone Star take control of Heidelberg鈥檚 North American Hanson Building Products business.

Heidelberg said the Hanson sale 鈥渋s consistent with its strategy of focusing on processing and refining raw materials for its core products of cement and aggregates and further downstream activities.鈥�

Muse go-ahead for 拢52m Warrington town centre revamp

The regeneration of Warrington town centre has taken a significant step forward after planning approval was granted for the 拢52m Bridge Street Quarter project.

Plans drawn up by Muse Developments in partnership with Warrington & Co and Warrington Borough Council will see a new market hall, civic centre, multiplex cinema and shops and restaurants.
