Vinci wins deal for 拢60m Chester Northgate revamp Vinci Construction UK has been named preferred bidder for the 拢60m first phase of plans to transform Chester city centre. Cheshire West and Chester Council chose the contractor ahead of rival contractor Laing O鈥橰ourke to deliver phase one, which comprises a relocated market, six-screen cinema, restaurants, a public square and car parking. Vinci will be formally appointed to a preconstruction agreement in autumn 2019, ahead of signing the contract for construction works by the end of next year.

Buckingham wins 拢19m Leeds station expansion deal Buckingham Group has won a 拢19m deal to support the expansion of Leeds railway station. Network Rail selected the contractor for the contract, which forms part of Leeds station鈥檚 拢500m revamp. Buckingham deal鈥檚 includes work on a new platform, extending a number of existing platforms, and carrying out associated works.

Laing O鈥橰ourke confirmed on Carillion's Royal Liverpool Hospital Laing O鈥橰ourke has been officially appointed as management contractor on Carillion鈥檚 Royal Liverpool Hospital job, the NHS trust has confirmed. Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust said it was working with the government and regulator to ensure construction works were restarted as soon as possible.
