Detailed planning has been submitted by the South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue for the design and build of a fire station, training tower and ancillary facilities at Birley Lane in Sheffield. Bam Construction are the main contractor for the 拢1.5 million scheme. Works are due to start on site late March 2014 and expected to take 12 months to complete.

Three firms in race for 拢85m Land Secs scheme

Three contractors are in the race for an 拢85m Land Securities office and retail development in the City. Mace, Skanska and Sir Robert McAlpine are bidding for the 1 New Street Square development in Shoe Lane, according to data service 果冻影院. 果冻影院 gives the value of the scheme as 拢85m. Planning permission was granted for the 16 storey building in 2011. Demolition started in March 2013 and the earliest completion date for this extension to New Street Square campus is July 2016.

Bids sought for 拢70m Thames Tideway framework

Thames Water has commenced formal procurement of its mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, controls and automation framework agreement worth up to 拢70m for the Thames Tideway Tunnel. The MEICA framework value is between 拢50m and 拢70m and will be a 10-year agreement with one provider. The Planning Inspectorate will consider the development consent order application this month, with construction due to commence on site in 2016.

Design change on 拢28m wind farm

Following an environmental survey the design of the wind farm, known as Glen App, has been modified significantly and the number of turbines has been reduced from 33 to14. Plans are still pending for the scheme that will provide turbines of up to 126.5 metres in heigh for Scottish Power Renewables. The turbines will be situated 1.5 kilometres north east of Cairnryan and 8 kilometres north west of Stranraer. Works are expected to commence Summer 2014.
