Invitations to participate in dialogue have been sent to six companies for the 拢120 million residual waste treatment project known as Clyde Valley Waste Management. A review into the possibility of shared services between councils recommended a Clyde Valley approach to this waste management scheme which led to an agreement between five authorities: East Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire, North Ayrshire, North Lanarkshire and Renfrewshire. The contract will deliver a residual waste treatment service for around 190,000 tonnes of waste annually. Each council will deliver waste to a transfer station in their area and a contractor will be appointed to operate these on behalf of the councils. Competitive dialogue is to draw to a close September 6th 2013 and the six companies pricing this are Amey Cespa; Balfour Beatty/Urbaser; Covanta; FCC Waste Services; Neales Waste Management; and Viridor.
